Osthammar Batvarv 12.5m Classic yacht
Yachting Brokers on the instructions of Marina Developments Ltd, offer for sale under Section 12 (3) Of the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 an Olle Enderlein designed classic 12.5m yacht. Potential purchasers are advised that the yacht specification and information has been gathered from various sources and it’s authenticity cannot be verified.
Yvette is believed to have been developed from the American yachts of ‘Shoretender’ type, which Olle Enderlein became familiar with when he was employed by the Sparkman and Stephens office in the USA. In Sweden the development of the type is named as a ‘Coast Cruiser’ (sail mark KR) running parallel to the international denomination of ‘Skerry Cruiser’ (sail mark SK), originally designed for sailing in the semi-protected waters in the Swedish archipelagos.
From information sourced, Yvette has had four owners from new, the previous owner having purchased her in 2007 at which time he started an extensive refit that included renovation to the cockpit area, installation of a new engine, new electrics all new batteries and charging system etc and new navigation gear and electronics. He also made a new cockpit table and a new saloon table, moved the fridge from the inside to a cockpit locker thus creating a small navigation station. The old gas cooker system was removed and installed a pair of non pressurised spirit burners. He also installed a new full size toilet, new freshwater system, new bilge pump systems etc.
It is understood she was originally sloop rigged and was later ketch rigged. The mizzen was originally stepped in the cockpit though the restoration information claims to have moved to a yawl rig with the mizzen deck stepped. At the time of our inspection there is no evidence of the mizzen at all, though the small bowsprit is still in place. Unfortunately we have also been unable to locate any sails.
She has now been laid up ashore sometime and unfortunately deck rain water has damaged an extensive section of topside planking on the aft quarter. Approximately all five topside planks of a length of about 2m are completely rotted out and need to be replaced. From our inspection of the remainder of the yacht it appears that she was built to a high standard and our photos show some of the internal laminated oak ribs and bilges which appear to be in good condition.
We are told that when the restoration was completed that Yvette looked stunning and we believe that with some time and money spent by her new owner that she can once again be restored to her former glory. Her lines are quite stunning and her pedigree also stands her in good stead.
Offers are invited on the asking price. If no satisfactory offers are received the vendors will instruct us to dispose of the vessel by online auction. The auction system will permit time for inspection and viewing prior to commencement of auction. Potential purchasers are strongly advised to seek expert advice prior to purchase.
